Last week we had the 5th transnational meeting of the SIMPLE project, an Erasmus+ KA2 project to exchange good practices in the integration of refugees and immigrants through vocational education.
As part of the meeting, we had the opportunity to visit the training centre of Örkelljunga, where refugees and immigrants receive training to learn Swedish (the first need to be solved when arriving to the country) and which uses VET as a way to integrate them into labour market and into society.
Some of the students shared with us their experiences and how this integration process has taken place, which has been very enriching also at a personal level.
Next time we are meeting in Elazig (Turkey) to learn how they are dealing with the arrival of hundreds of Syrians looking for a better future there.
