Meeting in Berlin to discuss about training for a better Work Based Learning system

HETEL is these days in Berlin with the partners of the IMPROSK projects to discuss about training of teachers and tutors/mentors in company in order to improve the quality offered in Work Based Learning (WBL) programmes.    5 teachers from HETEL´s schools will go in May to Stuttgart (Germany) to see how tutors/mentors in company are trained and how they offer guidance to the VET students they host. On the other hand, HETEL will also receive 18 teachers from Germany, Italy, Romania and Turkey to see how we are implementing our own WBL, which methodologies we use and how we involve companies in the process.   These days in Berlin we will also visit an automotive training centre to get in contact with experienced trainers of VET students in the dual German system.

HETEL presents secondary education students the internationalization possibilities of VET

Vocational education also offers students international experiences. On the 4th of May, HETEL presented, together with Euskaltel Konekta Foundation, the Erasmus+ project e-MOTIVE to show this reality to 80 students in upper secondary education.    The project is an international experience implemented on a higher VET programme on mechanical manufacturing design where students and teachers from VET centres associated to HETEL (La Salle Berrozpe and Egibide) and from an Italian VET college have worked together to design, solve, present and evaluate a given challenge in this field (the design of a wind turbine).   The process followed during the project is gathered in e-MOTIVE methodology. With it, HETEL has aimed to show that internationalization does not necessarily involve physical mobility and working in an international context is possible also from one´s school.    You can access more information on the project in these links: http://e-motive.vet/y https://youtu.be/C-8yP2Y12tA

Training VET teachers in Industry 4.0. related technologies

The first stage in the implementation of LAIT 4.0. is training VET teachers in those technologies related to industry 4.0. so they will be able to recognise them, know their applications in companies and be aware of their interrelation.    Our partner IK4 Tekniker will provide a training course to 20 teachers from Scotland, Lithuania, Italy, the Netherlands and the Basque Country to update their knowledge and skills related to industry 4.0. so they will be able to pass this to their learners but also to provide added value services to companies.    The course will have a duration of 35 hours and will take place between the 8th and 12th of May in IK4 Tekniker´s facilities in Eibar. During these days, the attendants will learn in a practical and experimental way about aditive manufacturing, collaborative robotics, Internet of things platforms, big data and implementation of technological check-ups in companies.

e-MOTIVE project – Third meeting to assess results and keep on going!

The e-MOTIVE team met in Brussels last week. Now that we are starting the final stage of the project we are starting to see good results and impact of our project: We have gathered 87 references for the e-MOTIVE matrix, which means we know what students from 87 higher VET programmes, from 14 professional fields, 11 countries and 46 higher VET schools learn and are able to do when finishing their studies. The e-MOTIVE methodology is almost ready and it will be available by mid-February (don´t miss it!). 6 Spanish students and 7 Italian students have virtually worked together to solve a challenge proposed by their teachers: designing a wind turbine. They will present the result next week in the Basque Country! The work we have been doing has been presented to several stakeholders (VET colleges, companies like Euskaltel, ICT company in the Basque Country…) and we are starting to prepare the next steps to replicate our methodology in other fields (ICT and health care) with new colleges (from Spain, Italy and Denmark). Next steps: Visit of the Italian students and teacher involved in the project to the Basque Country. Elaboration of the e-MOTIVE manual, with practical tools to help you implement e-MOTIVE´s methodology. Keep working on the matrix until we reach 200 references. Organization of multiplier events in Spain, Italy and Belgium. e-MOTIVE is moving forward, don´t lose track! http://e-motive.vet/

HETEL Abantean for an inclusive VET

In our 4th transnational meeting in Dresden (Germany) in the framework of Erasmus + project INCLUSIVE VET, we are discussing which are the skills a teacher needs to implement an inclusive education strategy from the school.    In this meeting we are counting with Sonia Bilbao, VET coordinator in our associated member Otxarkoaga VET centre. This school is well known for working towards a more inclusive education and society, paying special attention to those with difficulties for learning. The staff in this school is specially trained to achieve these objectives and they are sharing with us and the rest of the project partners their good practices in this regard. Thank you Sonia and Otxarkoaga for your commitment!    Follow the project website to be updated! http://inclusive-vet.eu/
