Meeting in Berlin to discuss about training for a better Work Based Learning system

HETEL is these days in Berlin with the partners of the IMPROSK projects to discuss about training of teachers and tutors/mentors in company in order to improve the quality offered in Work Based Learning (WBL) programmes.    5 teachers from HETEL´s schools will go in May to Stuttgart (Germany) to see how tutors/mentors in company are trained and how they offer guidance to the VET students they host. On the other hand, HETEL will also receive 18 teachers from Germany, Italy, Romania and Turkey to see how we are implementing our own WBL, which methodologies we use and how we involve companies in the process.   These days in Berlin we will also visit an automotive training centre to get in contact with experienced trainers of VET students in the dual German system.

HETEL presents secondary education students the internationalization possibilities of VET

Vocational education also offers students international experiences. On the 4th of May, HETEL presented, together with Euskaltel Konekta Foundation, the Erasmus+ project e-MOTIVE to show this reality to 80 students in upper secondary education.    The project is an international experience implemented on a higher VET programme on mechanical manufacturing design where students and teachers from VET centres associated to HETEL (La Salle Berrozpe and Egibide) and from an Italian VET college have worked together to design, solve, present and evaluate a given challenge in this field (the design of a wind turbine).   The process followed during the project is gathered in e-MOTIVE methodology. With it, HETEL has aimed to show that internationalization does not necessarily involve physical mobility and working in an international context is possible also from one´s school.    You can access more information on the project in these links: http://e-motive.vet/y https://youtu.be/C-8yP2Y12tA

Towards a more inclusive vocational education system

Since October 2015 HETEL is working in the project INCLUSIVE VET, co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, with the aim to build a VET system more inclusive for everyone, paying particular attention to those students with special needs for learning due to different reasons.         For the results of the project, we are counting a lot with Otxarkoaga, due to their expertise and involvement to create a more inclusive society starting with the delivery of education and vocational training to those who have it more difficult to build a future for themselves.           In the successive meetings of INCLUSIVE VET, the partners have been exchanging our good practices in different topics related to inclusive education. The last one, in Porvoo (Finland), about engagement with local agents.            All these good practices and examples will be found in the Guideline “’How to implement Inclusion in school and its environment”, which is being prepared by the project partners to provide a step by step plan to build a more inclusive vocational system.         Follow the project website to be updated! http://inclusive-vet.eu/
