How can we ENGAGE women to male dominated vocational training?

To answer this question, five partners from Denmark, Norway, Netherlands and Basque Country have launched the Erasmus+ ENGAGE project. HETEL is part in the consortium, involving Maristak Durango and Oteitza Lizeo Politeknikoa in project activities  This week, at Ángeles Custodios school in Bilbao, the first meeting was held and several working sessions took place. As a result, a schedule of actions has been drawn up to achieve the set objectives, which aim to make technology-related vocational training more attractive to women:  • Develop a European framework for gender-sensitive career guidance and train careers advisors in this methodology • Design a multimedia tool to facilitate careers guidance for young people, families and careers guidance teams through gamification • Involve our female technology students in an international collaborative network that meets their needs  Plenty of ideas, plenty of tasks and plenty of enthusiasm to tackle this shared European challenge. Abantean!

Kick-off Meeting in Lisbon of the STEAM Forward Erasmus Project

The kick-off meeting of the “STEAM Forward: Empowering Educators to Inspire Future Careers” Erasmus + project took place in Lisbon on 29–30 January, bringing together all partner organisations for the official start. Funded under the Erasmus Programme, the project aims to strengthen STEAM education and career guidance by equipping educators with innovative methodologies, digital tools and inclusive practices. Hosted in Lisbon by IMPACTsci, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to align on project objectives, work packages and timelines. The agenda included presentations and discussions on project management, training course development, MOOC platform creation, capacity building activities and dissemination strategies, ensuring a shared understanding of roles and next steps. The partnership brings together a diverse consortium of experienced organisations: the project coordinator Fondacia Prosveta-Sofia, Business Foundation for Education, Computer Technology Institute and Press Diophantus, HETEL, and IMPACTsci. This transnational collaboration lays a strong foundation for developing high-quality results and achieving a lasting impact on STEAM education across Europe.
